You have now been sworn in and become a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 136 Milton. The dues that you have paid will be sent into Command in Ottawa along with your Registration by the Membership Chair.
In 4— 6 weeks you must pick up your membership card from the bar steward. Carry you receipt of your dues payment to show you are a new member until you receive your membership card.
In the meantime, your name will be put on the board and in the barrel for the draws. These draw bins are located on the bar in the clubroom. The draws are:
- $1.00 per week, sign the book at the bar and a name is drawn each Saturday evening at 7:00 pm for a 50/50 draw. Your name must be on the board to win and you must have paid and signed the book in the week of the draw.
- $0.25 per day, sign the book at the bar everyday except Sundays. A name is drawn from the barrel at 11:00 pm for a 50/50 draw.
A door card will be made up for you. They must be picked up at the bar. The card is put up to the sensor at either the side door or the back door and the door will open automatically. Until your door card is made up, buzz at the side door and the bar steward will let you in or you may get signed in by a member of the Legion. If you lose or break your door card, a fee of $10.00 will be charged to obtain a new card. Key Fobs may be purchased for a price of $12.00. They may be ordered at the bar. They can be used instead of a door card. Your old door card must be turned in at the bar when you receive your key fob.
If there are any changes ie. address, give a note to the bar steward and they will forward it onto the membership chair.
The current Executive, Officers and Staff are posted on the BOARD at the Pine Street (Side) Entrance to Branch 136.
